2017 grain quality – Wet spring and draught conditions starting to affect US grain

Severe draught conditions and a wet spring in several states of the US are reflected in 2017 grain quality and condition reports.

Poor to very poor ratings in spring wheat are way above 2016 levels (37% vs 7% last year). There are reports from a number of states in the US with DON contamination in winter wheat.

Dry conditions have also increased the poor to very poor ratings in US corn to double the number compared to a year ago. So far 19% of corn has entered the silking stage.

For more information on current crop conditions in the US and how multiple mycotoxin contamination in grain affects animals compared to contamination with only one type of mycotoxin view the short video below.

Nombas joins as Anco FIT distributor in Israel

ANCO is expanding its business to Israel with the company Nombas as distributor for Anco FIT products.

Noah Miller and Adam Schatz, Associate Partners at Nombas comment: Henry Ford, once said: ”If I had asked what people wanted, they would have said a faster horse” and he came up with a new solution – the car – to get from A to B. We are looking forward to introducing a gut agility activator, which equally represents a new solution to safer and more efficient animal production, to the feed industry in Israel.”

Agriculture in Israel is a highly developed industry. Israel is a major exporter of fresh produce and a world-leader in agricultural technologies, despite the fact, that the geography of Israel is not naturally conducive to agriculture. Major produce includes vegetables, cotton, beef, poultry and dairy products, and citrus and other fruits. Citrus fruits are the country’s main export crops. The Israeli Ministry of Agriculture estimates the number of active farmers to be 9,000 to 10,000.

Since the 1950s, Israelis have not only been finding miraculous ways to green their own desert but have shared their discoveries far and wide. Read about 12 innovations that Israel contributed to feeding the world here.

Israel is still a very young country and has the highest concentration of start-ups in the world outside of Silicon Valley. This year it celebrates its 69th birthday. View a video with 68 facts about Israel you probably did not know about here.
